Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) Visas

What is an ETA?

An ETA is equivalent to a visa, but there is no stamp or label in your passport and there is no need for you to visit an Australian visa or diplomatic office to submit an application.

After you submit your application, you should receive your approved ETA within 24 hours.

You can also check and print out your ETA status at any time if you applied through this site.

When an application for an ETA is submitted through this site, we guide you all the way through. It only takes 5 minutes and your application is processed immediately. All you need to do is enter the details from your passport and your credit card information. Approved applications are electronically recorded on Australian Government systems.

When you check-in to travel to Australia (e.g. at the airport), the counter staff will electronically confirm that you have an ETA and therefore allow you to travel to Australia.
