You may have heard that ferocious bushfires swept across the State of Victoria earlier this month, penetrating and destroying a number of small towns in Victoria, and causing many lives to be lost in what has been called the worst natural disaster in Australia’s history.

I have been touched by the expressions of concern we have received from friends from all over the world. I know you join me in offering your condolences to all the people that have been affected.

The LIVE IN australia.com team is among the thousands contributing to the relief and restoration of these towns and their citizens. If you would like to make a difference to those in need, we encourage you to support the appeal being run by the Australian Red Cross.

Just like bushfires are part of our history, so is the resilient Aussie spirit that sees the nation come together in situations like this to rebuild and look forward to an optimistic future in one of the world’s most liveable countries.
