Dear Guest,
I would like to share some feedback we received from one
of our Clients:
"...They were very prompt in replying to my queries. I
used to feel sad on weekends when I did not get any
reply from LIA. It's almost like a genuine friend for
me. They are my guiding friends in each and every step
of my immigration process.
I am going to file my application very soon. I have only
a month left with LIA. I feel sad to depart from them.
But definitely, after I get my visa and when we migrate
to Australia, I will personally go and thank all the
staff at LIA for their continuous and encouraging
support without which I would be nowhere...in this great
immigration pathway. Thanks to LIVE IN australia.com..."
This is exactly the sort of experience we want all
Clients to have with us and all team members work
extremely hard to ensure consistent delivery of
exceptional Client service.

Australia gains brains
An Australian Government report has rejected concerns
that Australia is suffering a "brain drain" of
scientists. The Productivity Commission, which examined
taxpayer support for science and innovation, found
immigration of overseas researchers more than matched
the supposed exodus.
"Australia has experienced a brain gain rather than a
brain drain," the report found. "And ... the majority of
Australia's emigrants return home with additional skills
and experience gained overseas."
About 75 per cent of skilled Australian residents who
left on a long-term or permanent basis returned within
two years. The return rate from the United Kingdom was
85 per cent.
The commission cited other reports that found
Australia's lifestyle advantages would ensure skilled
migrants continued to come here - including:
- pleasant climate
- political stability
- affordable quality education
- relatively low crime and pollution
Bottom line? Opportunity knocks loudly in Australia! Our
dramatic growth demands more brains and many skills. And
the best way to investigate and obtain Australian
skilled visas is through LIVE IN australia.com.

Aussie Surprise of the Month
Well, you can't book your ticket yet, but Australian
scientists are working on the world's fastest
air-breathing engine. Scramjets are air-breathing
supersonic combustion ramjet engines, which could make
possible two-hour flights from Melbourne to London.
In a collaborative two-nation experiment that is
expected to provide a major boost to fledgling scramjet
technology, Australian and U.S. defence interests signed
a $4.6 million contract to conduct a controlled scramjet
experiment at Mach 10, or about 11,000km an hour, at
Woomera, South Australia.
So if you thought Australia was all kangaroos and wobble
boards, think again. We're up there at the head of the
scientific pack. Another reason any skilled migrant who
wants an exciting new life should follow through with
LIA today.

Melbourne leads way in growth
Victoria has recorded its highest population growth
since 1960, with an increase of 70,400 per annum.
Melbourne is Australia's fastest-growing city, with an
additional 49,000 people contributing to a total of 3.68
million.
Just under 40,000 overseas migrants had arrived in
Victoria by September 2006. Similarly, Australia's
population increased by 1.32 per cent or 269,600 to
20.675 million, fuelled by overseas migration.
Melbourne is a great city that welcomes skilled
migrants. Learn more here:

Skills crisis forces migrant rethink
Australian Business groups want the Australian
Government to increase the size of the permanent
immigration program from 140,000 a year to 180,000 in
the 2007-08 intake.
They also want easier ways to bring in temporary skilled
migrants. The Australian Industry Group believes that
Australia should aim for a population of 25 million, to
ensure adequate economic growth. It thinks that higher
immigration levels must be accompanied by more
vocational training in Australia. Essentially, this is
encouraging news for all skilled people wishing to
migrate to Australia, Guest.

A Town Like Bendigo
The area was originally known as Bendigo's Creek, named
for a local farm worker nicknamed "Bendigo" after a
famous English prizefighter, William 'Bendigo' Thompson.
Vast gold discoveries in the 1850s meant the city grew
rapidly and prospered.
Today, the City of Greater Bendigo is a large,
progressive regional municipality, with a population of
around 96,000. This makes Bendigo Victoria's third
largest regional centre, after Geelong and Ballarat.
Major employers are engaged in manufacturing, commerce,
media, tourism, human services, and education. Bendigo
Secondary College is the largest VCE (Victorian
Certificate of Education) provider in the State. Bendigo
Regional Institute of TAFE and the Bendigo campus of La
Trobe University are large and growing educational
institutions.
Bendigo is just one of many Australian cities with
urgent needs for people with a wide range of skills,
from public health, to mechanics, accountants, IT
specialists and everything in between. With LIA, you are
sure of maximising your chances, in a very timely
manner.

Aussie Recipe: Damper
Damper is traditional Aussie hand-made bread. Several
generations of pioneers, stock riders and bush travelers
usually baked damper in the ground. They simply mixed
flour with a rising agent (baking powder) and water, to
produce a stiff dough that could be baked on the coals
of a wood fire.
The bread made in this way became known as "damper"
(perhaps because the fire was "damped" down to a
moderate heat by the dough.)
Basic Damper
2 cups self-raising flour
1/2tsp salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1tsp sugar
1tsp butter
Method
Sift the flour, sugar and salt into a bowl and then add
the butter, add enough milk to make a manageable dough.
Shape into a flat ball and place on a greased and
floured oven tray, bake at 220c(400f) for 25-30 mins,
baste with milk during cooking.
Serve hot...with lashings of butter (golden syrup and
jam, goes very well with this bread).
Classic Aussie Damper.

Shonky: dubious, underhanded. E.g. a shonky practice,
shonky business etc. (Person who engages in such
practices is a Shonk.)
Aussie words in action: Recent investigations reveal an
alarming number of shonky people taking advantage of
immigrants. To avoid the shonks, simply contact LIA.
