Fraudulent Email - Important Information for Job Seekers
Fraudsters are currently targeting job seekers in the Australian job market by sending fraudulent emails that appear to be from legitimate websites, such as liveinaustralia.com, seek.com.au and mycareer.com.au.
These emails typically advertise "work from home" schemes that involve moving funds between accounts in Australia and overseas.
They are an attempt to get a person to receive stolen funds using his or her bank account and then transfer those funds to criminals overseas, a scheme otherwise known as "mule recruitment".
These email scams are run by fraudsters that are not in any way associated with the legitimate websites that they appear to be from.
If you have been a victim of a scheme such as this, please contact the AFP.
